Every Wednesday, Stacy hosts design and color experts from different industries for an inspiring discussion. On this weeks' episode, Stacy got to host the one and only Breegan Jane! 

As a Los Angeles-based interior designer, author, philanthropist and mom to two boys, Breegan Jane is a dynamic voice in the industry. She hosts HGTV’s The House My Wedding Bought and is a featured face on programs including Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Property Brothers, Fix My Fail, and more. Breegan originally honed her design skills as a creative director and marketing professional for a leading luxury yacht manufacturer, which catapulted her experience in the industry.

1. ACCESS TO THE EXPERTS

Breegan shared with us that she’s now consulting on the platform The Expert, a service that connects anyone, anywhere with top interior designers from across the globe via video consultations. Breegan explains, “At this point in my career, I’m able to offer all of my experience.” She reminds us to remember our worth, that we’re charging for all of the years and hard work we’ve put into our craft.

2. CREATING SPACES THAT GROW WITH YOU

Currently, Breegan’s client portfolio consists of new and growing families in the Los Angeles area. “Maybe it’s because I’m a mom as well,” she suggests, having an understanding of what families need. She also gave us a little bit of insight on what she recommends for these type of homes. “I think one of the things I often do is remind them that their babies are going to grow very quickly,” she explains. “My 3 month old very quickly turned into a 3 year old, and their room needed to transform several times, and quickly.” For some families, these rooms will follow their children to high school. Opting for baby blues and pinks or décor featuring storks will only be appropriate for so long, Breegan recommends furniture for capturing the whimsy of childlike décor.

3. SIGNATURE STYLE 

When asked how she would define her personal style, Breegan immediately recalled her signature vibe: “modern, approachable luxury.” She explains that having a little bit of glitz and glam is essential to her. She likes things that sparkle, but values the environment she grew up in. “I grew up a beach kid” she shares, “no shoes in the house, dogs always running around.” Having a home that feels livable with an approachable beach element is the most important to her. She does this by adding texture, clean modern lines, and a little bit of glam.
